Rutka Laskier was a Jewish girl born in Poland in 1929. She is known for keeping a diary during the Holocaust, which was discovered and published in 2006 under the title "Rutka's Notebook: A Voice from the Holocaust."
In her diary, Laskier described her life in the town of Bedzin, her friendships, family, and daily routines. She also documented the increasing persecution of Jews, including the creation of the Bedzin ghetto and the deportation of her family and friends to concentration camps.
Unfortunately, Laskier did not survive the Holocaust, and her fate remains unknown. However, her diary provides a unique and personal perspective on the horrors of the genocide and serves as a reminder of the importance of remembering the victims and survivors of the Holocaust.
